In a nod to the enduring legacy of the classic Christmas poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas," the USPS introduced a captivating set of four Forever stamps in 2021, aptly titled "A Visit From St. Nick." These stamps immortalize key scenes from the timeless narrative, depicting St. Nicholas poised on rooftops, winking with mirth, and soaring across the starry sky in his magical sleigh.
Originally published on December 23, 1823, in the Troy Sentinel of Troy, New York, "A Visit From St. Nicholas" quickly captured the hearts of readers worldwide. Penned anonymously at first, it was not until 1837 that Clement Clarke Moore revealed himself as the author. Despite initial reservations, Moore's endearing poem has since become a beloved holiday tradition, cherished by generations.
