Star Cluster IC 348 Priority Mail Express Stamp
The U.S. Postal Service celebrates the mysteries of space with a stunning Priority Mail Express stamp showcasing star cluster IC 348, captured in infrared by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) in 2022.
The image reveals a glowing reflection nebula's wirling pinks, purples, and whites of cosmic dust illuminated by young stars. Hidden within are brown dwarfs celestial bodies too small to become stars but larger than most planets.
JWST's advanced instruments even detected a never-before-seen molecule in two of these dwarfs, offering new insight into the formation of planetary systems.
Designed by Greg Breeding using NASA imagery, this stamp is issued in a pane of four and will be available at the Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Envelope rate.
