About the stamp designs: Featuring one of Bugs Bunny's iconic alter egos, Super-Rabbit, the artwork was crafted by Warner Bros. animation artists. The reverse side of the complete pane of 20 stamps showcases sketches by the same talented artists.
First Day City: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the First Day of Issue Ceremony took place virtually, with a postmark from Burbank, California, the headquarters of Warner Bros.
About the Bugs Bunny set: This collection comprises 10 unique stamp designs, paying tribute to Bugs Bunny's inaugural appearance in 1940. Each stamp portrays a different facet of Bugs' famous personas, including a barber, basketball player, Hollywood celebrity, court jester, Br??nhilde, mermaid, piano player, super-rabbit, baseball player, and soldier. The set celebrates Bugs' enduring legacy in popular culture and animation history.
History the stamp represents: In the 1943 animated short "Super-Rabbit," directed by Chuck Jones, Bugs Bunny assumes the role of a superhero after consuming a "super carrot" developed by Professor Cannafraz. Empowered with extraordinary abilities, Bugs ventures to Deepinaharta, Texas, to confront a hunter threatening local rabbits. Displaying feats of strength and agility, Bugs outwits the hunter until an unexpected twist forces him to rely on his signature disguise tactics, revealing that his true superpower lies in his cunning wit and quick thinking.
