A Glimpse into Otter Life:
Sea otters, members of the weasel family, inhabit the northern and eastern regions of the North Pacific Ocean. Renowned for their dense fur, sea otters rely on their luxurious coats to insulate them from the icy waters they call home. With up to one million strands of hair per square inch, their fur is among the densest in the animal kingdom.
Despite facing challenges such as habitat loss and historical declines due to the fur trade, concerted conservation efforts offer hope for the recovery of this charismatic species. By celebrating the playful nature of otters in their snowy realm, these stamps serve as a reminder of the importance of preserving their habitat for generations to come.
