Holiday Cheer Forever Stamp 2025
The U.S. Postal Service celebrates the warmth and beauty of the holiday season with the Holiday Cheer stamp series, featuring four charming mixed-media illustrations inspired by seasonal plants, fruits, and wildlife. Each design captures the simple joys of winter traditions and the natural elements that have long been associated with holiday celebrations.
The first stamp showcases three vibrant scarlet amaryllis blossoms with bright green stems gathered together by a festive red ribbon. The second design features a traditional holiday wreath composed of varying shades of green foliage, accented with holly berries and finished with a prominent red bow at the top.
The third stamp presents a colorful arrangement of seasonal produce, including a golden-yellow Bartlett pear, a deep red pomegranate, and a reddish-orange clementine placed beside an evergreen branch. The fourth stamp highlights two vivid red cardinals with distinctive black facial markings and shaded wings, perched together on a sprig of mistletoe.
To create the artwork, the artist combined traditional painting and collage techniques. The illustrations were first painted using gouache and acrylic on pages taken from a vintage gardening book. Individual elements were then carefully cut out and arranged onto archival cotton board, creating layered compositions that blend botanical imagery with handmade texture.
The northern cardinal, featured in one of the designs, has become a familiar symbol of the winter holiday season. These striking songbirds appear frequently on seasonal greeting cards and are admired for their bright red coloring, especially when seen among snow-covered evergreens during the colder months.
The use of flowers, fruits, and greenery as holiday decorations has a long history spanning centuries. Seasonal fruits such as pears and berries add natural color and beauty to winter wreaths and floral displays while also providing nourishment for birds and other wildlife during the colder season.
Art director Derry Noyes designed the Holiday Cheer stamps using artwork created by Denise Fiedler.
The Holiday Cheer stamps are issued as Forever? stamps in booklets of 20. These stamps will always retain the same value as the current First-Class Mail? one-ounce postage rate.
