Why the stamp was issued: This stamp kicked off the Floral Geometry series, designed to cover higher postage rates for packages, large envelopes, and heavier items.
About the stamp design: It features a watercolor background, foil-stamped details, and typography, creating an elegant, ornate look. The design mimics geometric patterns found in flowers. The stamp was created by Spaeth Hill.
First Day City: There was no formal First Day of Issue Ceremony, but the postmark was from Kansas City, Missouri, home to USPS Stamp Fulfillment Services.
About the Floral Geometry set: The first two stamps in the series, $2 and $5, were issued in 2022. The geometric complexity increases with each denomination, with the $10 stamp being the most detailed. All stamps include watercolor backgrounds and foil stamping, created by Spaeth Hill.
History the stamp represents: Flowers often showcase natural geometric principles. One such example is the Flower of Life.
The Flower of Life is a symbol made up of 19 overlapping circles, forming small flowers at their intersections. When fewer circles are used, like in the Seed of Life, it has significant spiritual meaning. In Sacred Geometry, it symbolizes life, the universe's formation, and the interconnectedness of all living things.
The Flower of Life has ancient origins. Archaeologists have found it in Egypt??s Osireion, the ruins of Pompeii, and other historical sites. Leonardo da Vinci??s The Vitruvian Man is believed to have been inspired by this symbol. In Christianity, the Seed of Life is linked to the Holy Trinity.
